This month, DAF is excited to be sponsoring one artist in the 2012 Sketchbook Project by from Art House Co-op.
Here’s How it Works:
Artists choose a theme and receive a sketchbook from Art House Co-op in the mail. Artists fill their sketchbook and return it by January 31, 2012. Thousands of sketchbooks will be exhibited at galleries and museums in the US and other parts of the world. After the tour, all sketchbooks will enter into the permanent collection of The Brooklyn Art Library, where they will be barcoded and available for the public to view. The Brooklyn Art Library tracks your unique barcode and records it every time it’s viewed. As a participating artist, you can choose to receive email or text messages each and every single time your book is viewed, connecting you and your work to visitors from around the world.
Participants can upload a biography that will be featured online alongside their digitized sketchbook. Personal histories, irreverent notes, formal CVs, or links to websites – this space is an opportunity for visitors to learn more about you.
The 2012 Tour will travel to Brooklyn, NY, Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, San Francisco, CA, Atlanta, GA, Austin, TX, Los Angeles, CA, Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR, Portland, ME, London, England*, Melbourne, Australia*, Vancouver, Canada, and Toronto, Canada. (more tour locations to be added)
