Sarolta Ban: Photo Manipulation 2011

September 30, 2011 By Wendy Campbell

A selection of recent work from DAF favourite Sarolta Ban (featured).  Born in Budapest, Hungary in 1982, Ban was originally a jewellery designer before discovering digital photo manipulation. Using a Fuji S5600 Bridge Camera, Sarolta’s images can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days to complete, containing up to 100 layers.

“I like using ordinary elements and by combining them, I can give them various stories and personalities. I hope that the meanings of my pictures are never too limited, are open in some way so that each viewer can transform them into a personal aspect.  “

Ban is currently working on publishing a book of her images and has been helping to open a photo gallery in Budapest.  To see more, visit SaroltaBan.com or check out her photostream on Flickr.
